LA HAP Bulletin for 3/2/18
Biktarvy added to uninsured formulary
BIKTARVY (bictegravir, emtricitabine, and tenofovir alafenamide) has been added to the LA HAP uninsured formulary effective 3/1/18. Insured clients may access Biktarvy provided it is covered by their primary insurer.
Updated Ramsell User Request & Confidentiality Form
An updated form to request access to the Ramsell User Interface has been posted on www.lahap.org under the “Forms and Applications” tab. This form allows us to better accommodate different user types. Please only submit this version going forward; the old version will no longer be accepted for new users.
Rite Aid pharmacy transitions
Walgreens is in the process of purchasing several Rite Aid locations, including many in Louisiana. This does not affect LA HAP coverage, as both Rite Aid and Walgreens are still contracted to participate in the LA HAP pharmacy network. However, several clients have experienced difficulty filling medications at Rite Aid locations while the transition to Walgreens management has been taking place (which includes new NPIs/NCPDP numbers for each location and new computer systems). Both Rite Aid/Walgreens staff and Ramsell are aware of these issues and troubleshooting them as they occur. To aid in this, please inform us of any Rite Aid locations where clients are experiencing difficulty filling prescriptions. While we expect all issues to be fully solved within several weeks, make sure your clients are aware of their other options in the LA HAP pharmacy network if they are temporarily unable to access medications through Rite Aid.
